10 Minute S’mores Bake

In Comfort Food, Dessert, Snacks, Under 30 Minutes, Vegetarian

Have you ever had the craving for a big ole, melty s’more? While there is no replacement for sitting around a campfire, the smell of smoke on your clothes, one of your friends strumming soulfully on their acoustic guitar and a marshmallow on a stick above the glowing embers, slowly turning a deep brown and sometimes catching fire, I don’t think a s’more should be limited to this scenario.

One day I had a terrible craving for chocolate but I didn’t want to leave the house or make anything (Inspiring aren’t I?). This is when I landed on the idea for a s’mores bake. 10 minutes later I was scarfing down melty chocolate and toasted marshmallows with graham crackers as the spoon.

So easy, so good, can feed a crowd or just one hungry soul. Not that I’ve ever eaten an ENTIRE pan of s’mores bake by myself… Nope, that definitely did not happen. But really, this is a go-to when having people over or just to stifle my chocolate cravings. Heck, add a layer of peanut butter if ya like and really go to town!

10 Minute S’mores Bake

Difficulty: Easy

Yield: 6 Servings
Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 5 min

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bag Marshmallows (mini would work even better!)
  • 1 Bag Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Box Graham Crackers

Directions:

Take a cast iron skillet (I used 9inch for this dish) and place on the stove at just a little hotter than low heat. You don’t want it too hot, just nice and warm.

As soon as it’s warm to the touch, turn the burner off and sprinkle in an even layer of chocolate chips.

Place the marshmallows packed tightly all around the edges, filling into the middle as you go. I like to place them sideways so their largest surface will get browned, not just the tops.

Pop them in the oven a ways back and turn it onto a broil. Watch very closely, it will take around 2-5 minutes. Pull out the skillet when the tops are all golden brown but be careful, it will be hot!

Break the graham crackers into 4th’s and use as scoops! Enjoy!
